CALHOUN COUNTY ANNOUNCES 6th Death and Additional COVID-19 Cases


A 90-year-old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on May 29th passed away. We received confirmation today. This is the 6th person to die in Calhoun County diagnosed with COVID-19.
We are expressing our sincere condolences to her family. The Florida Department of Health in Calhoun County will continue to work with our community partners to prevent the spread of COVID-19.


The Florida Department of Health in Calhoun County (DOH-Calhoun) confirmed three additional cases of COVID-19. The persons ill with the virus is a 37-year-old male, a 32-year-old male and a 34-year-old female. This brings Calhoun County’s total cases to 68.


DOH-Calhoun is continuing to work closely with patients, close contacts, and health care providers to isolate and monitor persons who may have been exposed to COVID-19. The COVID-19 case number is expected to change daily due to the return of results from ongoing testing. Healthcare providers in Calhoun County, Florida are collaborating to make testing available to the public.


The Florida Department of Health is offering testing during June as part of the state-wide initiative to Join in June. The Liberty County Health Department will provide testing Tuesday, June 23, 2020, from 9:00a.m. -11:30a.m., EDT. The Calhoun County Health Department will provide testing Tuesday, June 30, 2020, from 8:00a.m.-10:30a.m., CDT. No appointment is necessary. Each person being tested will receive a pack of cloth face masks.
